My experience with writing memoirs has changed since taking this class. When I used to free write on my own, I would either do fiction or find a study that interested me enough to read it. I never liked writing about myself, especially in retrospect. Maybe it’s because I’m embarrassed about certain things of the past, or the present, or maybe I just don’t like myself as much as other things. Sometimes I find that a study on nutrient and the effects it has on the mental state of a person is better use of my time than to think about my past memories. Though I dislike writing about myself so much, I enjoy read other people’s memoirs. I love to learn; about almost anything, really. But I feel like I know so much, maybe too much, about myself; I rather shift my attention to something else.

Office Hours: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 11:30 AM – 12:30 PM. I’ll be available through Zoom and will send an invitation via email that you should keep all semester. Try to join my meeting at the start of the hour, not at the end—since I may be talking to other students or have another appointment after the hour is up. If those times don’t work with your schedule, we can schedule a different time. This means you’ll have to schedule an appointment in advance. I suggest you have multiple times in mind, since your schedule may not mesh with mine!
