I’ve never hated poetry. It always came as second nature to me. Writing poems was therapeutic, if I couldn’t say it to someone I just wrote it out. just like everyone, you write poems on pain, political issues, and every other stereotypical reason. I was very serious about writing poetry when I entered the 9th grade, that’s when I started gouging through a lot of family nonsense then. My teacher, Mrs. Noble, would have a mindfulness session where we would sit in silence/peace for 10-15 minutes, some people wold use that for sleep or to do hw that day. One day she asked me to read one of my poems and I did then she loved it so much she got it typed out and laminated, and read it almost everyday. But then I went on a hiatus and never went back til this class.

Office Hours: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 11:30 AM – 1 PM. I’ll be available through Zoom and will send an invitation via email that you should keep all semester. Try to join my meeting at the start of the hour, not at the end—since I may be talking to other students or have another appointment after the hour is up. If those times don’t work with your schedule, we can schedule a different time. This means you’ll have to schedule an appointment in advance via email. I suggest you have multiple times in mind, since your schedule may not mesh with mine!
