Rick and Ashley are siblings who have an admiration for playing video games. Over the summer, Ashley developed a love for video games thanks to Covid. So, her big sister, Sam gave her the large laptop, which she didn’t need any more since she got the Surface Pro 7 to work and play. Meanwhile, Rick mostly plays on his Samsung phone and Chromebook. He has a love for exploring freely in Minecraft and being free of games without in-app purchases occasionally. Rick has a love for exploring, meanwhile Ashley loves playing on her comfy chair in the living room, with little to no love for going outside. One post pandemic day, Rick won a Reddit contest of getting the E3 tickets and they were two of them. E3 is a video game convention where geeks and players gather to learn about the newest video games and consoles. He never went to an E3 convention before and wants to make the best of it. The thing that got him more intrigued was the contest for the first 100 guests who come, will win the Nintendo Switch. Ashley didn’t want to go with him but changed her mind when she heard about the contest. She thought of trying to snatch the Switch from him by waking up earlier than him and be one of the first one hundred guests. The two packed their bags and flew to Los Angeles for the convention. During the flight to Los Angeles, the plane crashed to the ground due to a malfunctioning engine. Luckily, everybody survived the crash with minimal injuries thanks but now Rick and Ashley had no way of getting to the convention and it was in 5 days. Rick started to panic because he would not make it to Los Angeles to set him and Ashley up before going to E3. Both were stuck in a forest in the middle of Nebraska. Rick wanted to give up and forget the contest, but Ashley came up with an idea to walk to LA. The two siblings had to survive by eating nuts from the forest and drinking from the river, but it was tricky because they couldn’t tell which one is poisonous or not. Rick and Ashley got out of the woods and now in the dessert of Nevada. After two days of walking, just as Rick was about to give up, Ashley found a car coming towards them and yelled for help. The driver’s name was Kiki, and she was on her way to E3 too. Ashley explained what happened to them (except the E3 part) and Kiki agreed to drive them to a Los Angeles hotel.  They finally arrived at Los Angeles, California, two days before E3. After the long trek, Ashley forgot about her sneaky plan and was glad that the two bonded over their love of video games during the long walk. For the first time in forever, Ashley loved going outdoors again. The siblings got there to the E3 convention on time and were part of the first 100 people and won the Switch contest. Rick got his chance to geek out at new future Minecraft content and Ashley got her dream Nintendo Switch; now she can play Animal Crossing and Mario.
