I enjoyed about how the author used the supernatural in her story. One thing that interested me was how she talked about the power of memory and how it moves from one place to another. As I read the story was still confusing, until the almost drowning part. I have some questions for the author. What time does this short story takes place: in the 18th or 19th century? Does the narrator avoid the stone bridge because of slaves drowning or her mom dying there?
