It was a cold winter evening; I was rushing to the restaurant to meet my girlfriend to celebrate our 1-year anniversary. The train had delay, so I had to run to make it on time. I donāt like to keep people waiting. The cold crisp air hitting my face as I rush to make it on time. Finally, I make, and I see my girlfriend looking so good in my sweater she stole from me. Me being the gentlemen I am had to place my cold had on her neck just to annoy her a little bit. Dinner was good but it was time for the bill. This is where it gets interesting.
My girlfriend and I always have strong opinion about whoās going to pay. Over the months we have tried to come up with an effective way to keep it as fair as possible. We have tried doing okay you pay one dinner I got the next one. That didnāt last long because event happen cause money to issues. We have tried just being the first one to open the bill and stick the card in without the other person seeing it. That didnāt work out so well. Sheās got fast reflexes. It just didnāt seem fair. It seemed like nothing was work. She would always say āyou always pay, and you never let me payā. Which is false she does get to pay sometimes. Then sheāll get a little upset because I paid. Thatās when I must do damage control. So, when they bill came on our 1-year anniversary date, I came up with the perfect why to always keep it fair and up to chance itself. We play rock, paper, scissors. The best two out of three games get to pay for dinner. It may seem childish playing rock, paper, scissors but it works.
This game has finally ended the year long argument about whoās paying. No one gets upset. Thereās no cheating, its calm and simple. Thereās no scaring the waiter when he brings out check. We accept defeat like adults. We even keep a scoreboard now it’s currently at 20 -15. I have 20 wins and I intend to keep the lead.
