Jones Critique

Reading Edward P. Jones story left me wanting to read more about the story because I want to know what become of that little girl? A lot of description was given that led me to believe that this story is about a black child and the mother who tried so hard to have her ready for her first day of school. I like the story because it talks about a way of life that I know about and the person verses person conflict. Question to the narrator, is this little girl ashamed of her mom because of her mom could not read or her appearance at the child’s school?
