Critique Patchett’s work
Chapter 1 left me wanting to read more about “Truth and Beauty” by Ann Patchett. I love the way she connects the broken air condition with the broken radio. Her descriptive words allowed me to visualize the road trip in the rented U-Haul truck, its like giving life to the story. I am wondering why the narrator had more to say about Lucy than her own journey as a writer or about living and adjusting in a new town? The beginning of the story grab my attention as a fun story but became sad at the end. Why did the focus shift from living with a roommate and a new job to Lucy’s sex life? Will chapter 2 give more details about Lucy’s life or the narrator’s life story?
