Poem 1: Angel
I seen the moon become red
The sky black as the depths of the sea
The stars were nowhere to be seen
The winds howling through the trees
He came to visit again
An unexpected visit it was
A 3-headed figure, in great stature, as tall as a forest tree
He awaited my presence outdoors
Hovering like a delicate dove
āI didn’t think you would come back so soonā
With the great voice of thunder he replied
āI wanted to see if you were afraid of me yetā
Poem 2: The End of Poetry
As hard as it may seem
No one really cares about your hurt
Your pain
Your feelings
Your despair
Your happiness
Your nonchalant-ness
Your depression
Your āi don’t have a reason to liveā
Because guess what
Just like what Louis was talking about and what everyone told Houston they had a problem with
Everyone goes through what you go through
Get over it
Find a way out
And shut up
Poem 3: Origin Story
I come from brooklyn, born and raised
I come from specifically canarsie
I came from 2 generation haitian migrants
I came from a mothers parental trauma, being treated less than the other sibling
I come from unrashly acts of rage
I come from being over sexualized at a young age
I come from āmom i did do thatā but i still got a whoopin cause she didn’t believe me
I come from “I guess they don’t see me”
I come from not knowing how to say i love you
I come from…
I come from sin
Poem 4: Desire
Brilliant and beautiful
She was the picture of beauty
As long as the coral reefs and as dark as the seas
Her lips were was full as the moon and gentle as the trees
Her presence was captivating like how a blue bird sings
But the man who shan’t be named
The man she loved
Loved another who’s cheeks were pinched red
Whose lips were as cherry as a cherry blossom tree
Soft as a rose that blooms in May
When he sleeps he calls her name
She was as clear as a pearls
She loved him; the man who shanāt he named loved another
She was brilliant and beautiful til her last wispy breath
