This is a great story where Ann Patchett gets to tell us about a friend named Lucy. I liked how the narrator was so inspired about Lucy Grealy, who is a strong young lady and a great poet. The way Ann talks about Lucy is amazing. These two friends had so much in common. They both kissed the same boy in college. In my opinion they are both great poets.

We can notice communication when Lucy goes to Ann to express herself and feelings. Respect when all the time Ann talks and sees all the good in Lucy. Finally, they support each other since everything happens while you are in college and that is what happened to them.
