Whatever Happened to ___, by Anonymous, describes a traumatic moment in her life, and the way she describes it, made me feel hooked in her story. As with her writing style, the author makes sure the story is being told straight from the beginning and hows things went before the turning point of her life. The way I felt was tense because she makes sure every small detail in her story counts. For example, the one part where she describes her daughter running first, then her, straight to the car while the husband chasing them but failed to touch them because of the car window. Then his hands pounding against the car making her drive off and never looking back. Overall, this is what makes a memoir, details matter to make the reader continue reading. One question I would ask is, what is up with the first 2-3 paragraphs? Is that connected to her memoir? Because it was confusing me.
