The parts that I enjoyed were Lucy making a surprising revelation to Ann and spotting a red flag with Lucy’s boyfriend. When Lucy told Ann that she has to tell her something, she revealed that she made out with someone in the car. (Patchett 8). While reading, when Lucy had something urgent to tell Ann, I thought it was supposed to be depressing or worrying. The making out part just surprised me. That came out of nowhere. The man that Lucy made out with taught her obedience (Patchett 12). When I read that, I felt that something bad was going to happen and I was right. Lucy only wanted to make out with the guy because of the pleasure, not love. I also had no idea that the same thing happened to Ann as well. I wonder, every time the girls talk about the men they’ve made out with, why are their names censored?

Office Hours: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 11:30 AM – 1 PM. I’ll be available through Zoom and will send an invitation via email that you should keep all semester. Try to join my meeting at the start of the hour, not at the end—since I may be talking to other students or have another appointment after the hour is up. If those times don’t work with your schedule, we can schedule a different time. This means you’ll have to schedule an appointment in advance via email. I suggest you have multiple times in mind, since your schedule may not mesh with mine!
