Nickay Green, Tsunami Rising

I love everything about Chin’s poem. I like the way her tone changes throughout her presentation to match the emotions she was feeling in each paragraph. Also, she was open and honest in her poem about the injustice black women face in this country and made it relatable to all black women who at some point in time experience what she was talking about. I like her style of delivery because the message in her poem would not have the same impact if it was done in a formal way.

    Good evening Nickay,
I agree that Chin did not have a filter on what she said about the challenges black women face in today society. Black women need to speak up and empower themselves. If this poem was writing in a formal way, it wouldn’t grab the reader or listener attention.

Hey Nickay, I also love the informal tone she takes in the poem. It makes it feel much more personal and makes it easier to sympathize with black women and the struggles they endure in America.

    Hi Nickay,
I agree with what you said about how the poet was so courageous and bold and how the poet was able to speak openly without any hesitation or being scared of anyone. The way the poet talks about it, shows that she has been storing all these feelings inside her for a long time.

    Hi Nickay,
I agree with you on her informal way of delivery making the poem better. it was very representative of how many blacks women feel in America and the tone was her way of saying “enough is enough”

Chin’s voice and style is something that makes her poem even better to me. I agree with what Robert said. I feel like if she didn’t choose this way of presenting her poem, it would have lost a lot of the feeling.
