I decided to do my discourse community in a speech format because I wanted to tell it like a story that is just simple. I couldn’t do it as a letter since I had no one I specifically wanted it to be directed towards. I felt like AOC’s and Young’s speeches were the one’s that helped me make my piece because their way of telling a speech was how I wanted to give it. Just simply talking to the audience either telling them a small background and then how its impacted my discourse community now. After doing this topic of our discourse communities I could see now which communities I am a part of, which before I never really took the time to think about it and how I interact differently with different with different communities.

Class Meetings & Times: in person Mondays and Wednesdays, 2:30 – 3:45 PM in Namm 523A
Office Hours: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 12 – 1:30 PM. I’ll be available through Zoom and will send an invitation via email that you should keep all semester. Try to join my meeting at the start of the hour, not at the end—since I may be talking to other students or have another appointment after the hour is up. If those times don’t work with your schedule, we can schedule a different time. This means you’ll have to schedule an appointment in advance via email. I suggest you have multiple times in mind, since your schedule may not mesh with mine!
