I am willing to revise my first assignment which was the U1 writing assignment (discourse community) since my speech didn’t have a clear audience and my genre was also unclear. In revision, I will try to put the words together in a sense as a speech and I also want to showcase my tone towards the audience. My audience for U1 was people who are familiar with my discourse community, so I believe I have to explicitly announce my audience in my speech and for the genre, I wanted to give a speech but it was more like a research paper. In order to turn my genre into speech, I have to address my audience more clearly and state the problem to them understandably. Lastly, I want my tone to have a power that can bring changes in my discourse community.
