A discourse community I belong to is my job. I work for an air conditioning and heating company. We do the installation of the heating and cooling system in commercial buildings. In the construction field there is a lot of paperwork involved, as everything has to be submitted and approved by the design Engineer and Architect. If the documents involved are not submitted, filed, reviewed, or distributed as required it can be subject to financial lost to the company. The project management team is in charge of reviewing all the submittals, filing it and forwarding it to the drafters. The drafter in the other hand, are in charge of drawing the ductwork and equipment per the drawings provided by the design team (who is hired by the client). Every detail is important in a drawing since it can entangle something bigger at the moment of the installation. The project management team and the drafters are supposed to work together to ensure that the projects are executed by the codes and specifications per the design. Sadly, in the company there is not a system for how all the projects should be managed. Each project team could run the project in their own particular way, which can cause many problems because there are no guidelines to follow. There are also no regular meetings where one can arise any problems or concerns. The is often no communication between the teams. There is also a lack of unity between the teams and each team tries to justify themselves when there is a complication.

    i like that your discourse community is a job based community that you share common interests to contact with many staff. Although each management have different goals ,that enhance the benefit of everyone so come up with ideas that never have been taught before that encourages other people to step in.
