There is no final exam for this class; however, you must turn in a Final Portfolio that showcases the work youâve produced this semester. This sheet will detail what is expected, the order, how to save and submit the Final Portfolio, and how it will be evaluated.
Please read this document carefully and long before the Final Portfolioâs due date: 12/13/2020!
Final Portfolioâs Contents
1. Final Reflection
There is a longer document detailing what is expected, so this is the shortened version of this assignment. You are to write a Final Reflection of at least 1,000 words that covers the following questions:
- What have you learned about yourself as a reader, writer, and scholar this semester?
- How have you changed or developed as a reader and writer this semester?
- How will you be able to use what you have learned this semester and transfer that knowledge to other writing situationsâeither in college or in your community?
2. Three Major Writing Assignments
Youâve created three major writing assignments for Units 1, 2, and 3. Total word count for all assignments needs to be at least 5,000 words: For this Portfolio, you must resubmit all of the three major writing assignments.
Note: You can choose to revise one of your major assignments. If you are satisfied with your previous grade, you donât have to revise any of the Units, but you must resubmit them (directions for how to submit are later in this document).
If you do revise, please make note of that in your reflection so I can read and regrade the revision. If you choose to revise a piece, include a short paragraph explaining the changes you made and why. This can be included at the beginning of the revised piece and put under a heading that says âReflections on Revisions.â If you do not include this paragraph, I will NOT change your previous grade!
3. Shorter Writing Assignments
Throughout the semester, Iâve assigned Micro-Activities, Discussions, and Introductory Work. These assignments were all posted on the OpenLab website. Go through the shorter writing assignments and select two that show your evolution as a writer or reader. You donât have to revise these entries, but if you want to revise a little for clarity, go ahead!
The Order & How to Save
When you save and submit your Final Portfolio, you must follow the instructions exactly.
Each file must be a separate file, and save as a PDF (except for the Unit 3 Writing Assignment if itâs intended to be a PowerPoint or some other visual/auditory presentation). When naming the files, title them as follows:
1_Student Name, Final Reflection
2_Student Name, U1 Writing Assignment
3_Student Name, U2 Writing Assignment
5_Student Name, U3 Writing Assignment
6_Student Name, Shorter Writing Assignments
NOTE: Except for the U3 Writing Assignment, be sure to have the following information on the first page of all writing assignments:
Student Name
Date
ENG1121
Word Count: XXX

Page numbering: Last name and page number in upper right corner on all pages.
All work should be double-spaced, in 12-point, Times New Roman font, with 1â margins.
