I will select PowerPoint to present my topic, ā€œGun Controlā€, because I think it is easy to use and it can add pictures and modify information conveniently. PowerPoint is the most common way of presentation in the world. I believe that this genre is appropriate and effective because PowerPoint can better organize my information into each slide. In this way, the content can be presented to the audience more clearly and logically.

Elements and features of PowerPoint:

  1. Slides – Insert text, graphics, audio, video, and animations
  2. Formatting – Decorate the content on your slides
  3. Presentation Playback – The final slide presentation will be the only PowerPoint element that your audience sees
  4. Themes – Themes create visual unity and a mood for your entire presentation by making fonts, colors and graphics the same for all slides
  5. Multimedia Formats – PowerPoint lets you import a variety of multimedia formats into your presentations, including WMV, SWF, AVI, MPEG and others

My research topic is gun control, so Iā€™m able to collect all the data about guns, such as what percentage of US citizens own guns, What percentage of homicides are gun relatedļ¼Œ How many lives are saved by gunsļ¼Œ and so on. I can use these data to make the tables, charts, graphs and add to my PowerPoint. It can convey these information more specifically and visually to my audience.
