There were a few parts of this research assignment I had difficulty with. First, I thought going online to use the school’s library database to find my articles was hard. I found it frustrating to search through so many different sites to find the information I needed. But, I guess that’s why this assignment was called research. On two separate occasions I emailed the librarians for help. The librarians were very helpful and gave me great advise. I also felt using three different kinds of sources for this assignment was so time consuming. I found so many articles on agriculture and climate change but I was disappointed that I could use only one. Narrowing down the choice of articles was very hard for me.

The most difficult past of this assignment was learning how to correctly cite in MLA citation format. I tried to follow the samples that were online but the entire process was still daunting. Some articles did not list a publisher. I just quickly eliminated them from my research even though I could have used them because they were very interesting.

What I learned most from doing this type of research that I can take to future classes is how to use more than one type of source. Even though I found it time consuming and frustrating to use different type of sources I learned the value of why doing this is so important. I found that there are so many different ways that agriculture and climate can be discussed. I learned that articles are usually written by journalists and they write to general public. I also read up about climate change and agriculture on governmental and education websites too. I noticed that the government documents used more graphs and included more statistics but they were also more boring.

I also learned how to write a more interesting reflection when I have future papers. In high school and other college classes, teachers always wanted us to include a ”reflection” as part of the assignment. Frankly, I never knew what to write. I plan to use your questions as a guide so that I will able to write awesome ”reflections” in the future. The reflection questions you gave us really helped me to think about what I was writing about.
