Although the individuals that composed and signed The Declaration of Independence were willing to lose everything and be tried as traitors to their country did something that is commendable, we can all agree that they did not fought for justice and equality for everyone.

Problem: Racism

Causes: Racism is a social problem that stagnates the realization of social unity, peace, and equality globally (Clair & Denis, 2015).Notably, racism is experienced in many countries globally, including the US, where a combination of factors contributes to its spread. The first cause is poor leadership. Leaders are the first group of people to take the blame for the worrying trend of racism (Clair & Denis, 2015). Leaders, especially the majority of whites, have put little effort into eliminating racism despite knowing its effects and having access to relevant mitigating instruments. They have been slow to implement state laws that promote equality and fairness in society (Baker, 2011).

Problem: Global Warming

Causes: there are a lot of causes contributing to this issue but the main one is

 Industrial Activity

Since the Industrial Revolution, humans have been burning fossil fuels such as coal and petroleum for energy, which releases carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. A quarter of this is for heat and electricity, while another quarter is for other industrial processes and transportation, which includes gasoline- or diesel-powered cars, trucks, trains and airplanes. The other half of the energy is used for various other purposes, including agriculture, cement production and oil and gas production. These processes also release other greenhouse gases, such as methane and CFCs, although the concentration of CFCs has declined since their use was banned in 1988.

Problem: Social Inequality

Causes: While the 21st century has witnessed an increase in the access to education for most people, education still remains to be a cause for inequality. This is because the quality of the education offered depends on the context of the school or class.

Problem: Homelessness

Causes:

People sleeping on the street are almost 17 times more likely to have been victims of violence. More than one in three people sleeping rough have been deliberately hit or kicked or experienced some other form of violence whilst homeless.

Homeless people are over nine times more likely to take their own life than the general population.

People become homeless for lots of different reasons. There are social causes of homelessness, such as a lack of affordable housing, poverty and unemployment; and life events which cause individuals to become homeless.

People can become homeless when they leave prison, care or the army with no home to go to. Many homeless women have escaped a violent relationship.

Many people become homeless because they can no longer afford the rent.

And for many, life events like a relationship breaking down, losing a job, mental or physical health problems, or substance misuse can be the trigger. Being homeless can, in turn, make many of these problems even harder to resolve.

Problem: Women right to choose

Causes: Women’s right to choose regarding birth control and abortion is sociologically important because women have fought (and in some cases still fighting) to be equal to men in society. By having the government take away an important women’s right of choosing to take birth control or have an abortion may be looked at as setting women back years of fighting for equality.
