Gun violence has been increasing in 2021 there’s been shooting in funerals celebrations at work and at peoples homes. During the first five months of 2021 there has been 8100 people dead due to gun violence that is about 54 lives a day. This article talks about how teens are dying everyday and how much teens have died the past year there’s being teenagers getting caught in cross fires during a gang war or being at the wrong place at wrong time or posting something on social media that offended someone in the article it states that during covid 19 there’s been easy ways for people purchasing a gun. In the article it also tells us how a 13 year old got chicago showing her mom a dance the bullet was supposed to be meant for the boys standing in front of the house but one of the bullets broke the window and his the 13 year old girl.

This article is a summary of how there’s an increase of children dying because of gunviolence. Easy access to guns have allowed many people to be able to retrieve it and use it to harm children. Guns are easily found in the market as well as underground, which makes it easy for people and even children to obtain a gun. When they have the gun in their hand they use it for the wrong purpose. As mentioned in the article, gun shots would be fired randomly on the streets but it would hit a bystander who are mostly children. The children who get shot once are most likely to die from the gun shot because they are not capable of surviving a gunshot. Most importantly, the gun shot has caused children to have long term mental and physical disabilities. One thing that caught my attention in the article was based on a 4 year old boy named LeGend Taliferro who was shot dead in bed. He became the victim when his father was having an argument with a friend, therefore the friend ended up firing shots which hit the little boy. According to the website Gun Violence Archive “ The U.S. saw 991 gun violence deaths among people 17 or younger in 2019”. These are some statistics mentioned in the article about the death rate caused by gun violence.

The sandy hook shooting occurred on dec 12 2012 in newtown connecticut united states when a 20 year old openfired in a elementary school and killed 20 children and 6 adults who where either teachers of staff members the 20 children he killed where at the age 6 or 7 years old .before he went to the school he had shot and killed his mom at her home. Once he was done shooting up the school he had shot and killed himself when the first responders had arrived at the school this incident is the most deadliest shooting at a school in the united states and is the fourth deadliest shootings overall ever since then the usa have been more strict about having a gun and making the seller of the guns doing a background check on the customer and have banned the sales of automatic weapons and weapons that hold more than ten rounds in the magazine the 20 year old had done this all by himself and the police in 2013 had no clue why he would target that school. In 2014 the police say that he did this because asperger syndrome and as a teenager suffered through depression and anxiety but still don understand why he would murder children
