I found it easier to express my thoughts and feelings about this topic by using the speech format. I believe that for this specific topic, It was a necessity to use a speech and not a letter. That is because the audience was not a specific person, but a group of people. The objective was to convince people or create awareness towards the excess use of gaming consoles/devices. The best way to achieve this is to have a face to face interaction with the listener. Young was the source of inspiration or motivation that took me to use the speech genre. She explained a little bit of her personal life which she later used to introduce the main problem or topic she wanted to talk about. At the beginning I thought a letter would be a better option, but thinking about that not a lot of people like to read nowdays, this issue needed to be explained physically. Maybe that way It can have more impact on people’s lives. I am surprised by how easy it was to express my thoughts this way.
