Some adjectives that I would use to describe Antigone would be confident, leader, and stern. For her sister Ismene I would describe her as obedient, restless, and stern. Both sisters are standing up for what they believe is right and they are not convinced by either side. If the play was to be turned into a movie I would like to see Viola Davis play Antigone and Angelina Jolie play Ismene. I find both these women to be strong actors and it would be interesting to see their take.
Based on Creon’s monologue, if he was in today’s society he would’ve used Instagram live to get his thoughts across. Creon seems to like his power and control a lot and he has no interest in allowing other people influence his policies. Instagram live would be perfect for him because it is fast and he would be broadcasting only himself to the world. He would say ” I am coming on live today to address the incident that has happened. I have decided that Eteocles will be able to have a proper burial because of his honorable actions in defending our town. However his brother Polyneices has lost the privileges of a proper burial. We have zero tolerance for betrayal. Whoever does not agree me will also be punished”.
