Filmmaking, being a student, and the LGBTQ community are three discourse communities that I am a part of. Each have problems that are unique to the group they are in. In the film industry a big problem is that there is not enough funding for filmmakers to make their own work. Major production companies are only interested in making reboots or sequels. Being a student in 2021 is a challenge in itself. But also it is also financially and mentally straining. Within the LGBTQ community there exists forms of discrimination as well whether it be because of race or physical attributes.
