Dear Future Student,

If I could turn back time I would make myself aware of the assignments to come. I would try to gain knowledge about discourse communities, letter writing and do some annotating bibliography learning. This way when it came to doing them in the class I wouldn’t be afraid to start such project. I wouldn’t procrastinate and know exactly what to do. To tackle the readings I would advise them to sit in a quiet place with a cup of coffee if thirsty. Not lay down or have a phone nearby because you can easily fall asleep or grab your electronic device. I would also suggest to go over the readings several times if having difficulty. Looking at spark notes is also not a bad thing if having extreme trouble. This will enable you to get a jist of the story line and help better understand the text. I would advise you to tackle the low stakes assignments right away. Especially if the professor gives you time to do them during class. This way you can focus on your major writing assignments or have free time by not having to worry about them. To tackle major writing assignments I would advise to ask questions. If you have worries about something ask. After knowing what’s expected I would get right to work and start!

Sincerely,

Past Student
