- I found it easier to express my thoughts through a letter than writing a traditional academic essay because it was easier to address the people concerning my discourse community. No one else would relate.
- The pieces we reviewed by A.O.C., Young, Douglass, and Wollstonecraft helped me create my piece because they all wanted change. They all had their own way of doing it but nonetheless wanted their discourse community to see things in their perspective.
- In the beginning I didn’t know what a discourse community was. I’m surprised at the amount of discourse communities our class belongs to. I see myself using the skills gained to write this piece in writing assignments for other classes by sounding like myself and using coherent language.

Try to join my meeting at the start of the hour, not at the end—since I may be talking to other students or have another appointment after the hour is up. If those times don’t work with your schedule, we can schedule a different time. This means you’ll have to schedule an appointment in advance via email. I suggest you have multiple times in mind, since your schedule may not mesh with mine!
