  • Read my Announcement on Peer Reviewing!
  • Continue working on your draft of your letter or speech, and have it ready to share with your peers during Part 2 of the class.
  • You may also make an appointment with the City Tech Writing Center for help at any stage of the drafting process:  https://openlab.citytech.cuny.edu/writingcenter/. (This is optional, but encouraged.)
  • If you haven’t formatted it, do so before class on Wednesday. The formatting depends on whether you’re writing a letter or a speech.
  • Follow the appropriate format below:

During Part 1 of class, we will be focusing on WRITING:

Drafting

  • Look at the research you did on the problem in your discourse community, and find a quote you might use to support the argument you are making in your letter or speech. Be sure to use the “quote sandwich” technique and cite using MLA style. If you need help with either quoting or citing, refer to Purdue OWL’s “MLA Style Introduction.”
  • Work on your draft.
  • You are not posting your draft, but you are expected to spend the session working on your draft and asking questions if they arise!

  • You must complete the guide and email it to your peer(s) and me by the end of class.
