Allegory of the Cave was written by Plato, an ancient Greek philosopher born in Athens during the Classical period. it is also important to note that Plato was a student of Socrates. Allegory of the Cave takes place of a cave with prisoners being chained up. That’s supposed to represent us as human beings. The shadows of the wall represents the reality for prisoners (us). We aren’t exactly be able to view what’s going on in the real world. The fire represents how little we know about the truth, and the sun is basically the good of all of what’s happening, being able to finally see the truth and having all the knowledge of the outside world.
