In ‘How to Read Like a Writer’ by Mike Bunn, one technique that I find interesting is asking yourself questions as you read. In other words, put yourself in the author’s shoes: What are the author’s intentions in the writing? What is the writing intended for (people in elementary and high school)? and many more. I find this technique useful because it allows for a deeper analysis. A deeper analysis can help you comprehend the text more effectively, which can be very beneficial.
