In Platos book, Allegory of the cave plato describes the people who are chained up in the cave as ignorant and blind for them only wanting to believe what is inside of the cave to be real but not the outside world. In where Pluto symbolizes the darkness as the prisoners comfort zone in where they are to uncomfortable to leave since this is what they always knew and not what was beyond the cave into the real world.
