āAllegory of the Caveā from The Republic, by Plato, starts from a cave where there is no light. It is very interesting. The story explains that people who are trapped in the same environment would refuse to explore the unknown. They prefer to stay in their comfort zone as it makes them feel safe while the unknown is scary. This reflects real life. It is extremely difficult to change someone elseās beliefs or perspectives when they grow up with them. They would refuse to learn about the truth and only choose what they believe in. In other words, the beliefs or perspectives they had have already rooted in their brains. Thus, just like in the article, the only way to pull the root out and to push them to overthrow their beliefs is to show them proofs. The key is to force them to learn and this will force them to process and eventually adopt. Overall, the article shows the readers how important education is. People without education are like those who are stuck in a cave with no light and are only able to see what is in front and not see what is beyond the cave.
