A moment that I find useful in Bunnâs essay is when he states âBishop moved from simply reporting her personal reactions to the things she read to attempting to uncover how the author led her (and other readers) to have those reactionsâ (Bunn, pg. 73). This quote caught my eye because as a reader, I never questioned why or how an author had led me to have a certain reaction. I would usually just react to what Iâm reading, let what I read sink in and then continue reading. This is something I would like to incorporate while reading because I would have a better understanding of the writing, the author and why they wanted me to react the way I did.
