In the Bunn essay one specific thing I learned was how to connect with the writer by figuring out how the text was constructed, therefore giving us a better understanding on what they’re trying to portray. In simplest form, the author wants us to interpret whatever we’re reading as if we were the ones who created it, giving us the advantage of understanding it more efficiently. Also, I think about the alternative choice of words when in interpreting a text. Based on certain books I am able to put myself in the writers’ shoes to feel what they feel.
