“The goal is to carefully consider the choices the author made and the techniques that he or she used, and then decide whether you want to make those same choices or use those same techniques in your own writing,” (Bunn, page 72).

This quote is appealing to me because writing is an evolving thing and when you make that choice to use the same technique an author uses, you make it into your own style of writing something similar to the original author’s writing but different. Furthermore, the quote really shows how you can improve your writing skills because you as a reader will be able to improve these new skills and implement them into your writing skills. When you read like a writer it reveals that you are the writer and can make these decisions that can revolutionize your own writing abilities. Finally, it’s also wise to think about why the Author used these skills in this specific text which makes you think about why you should use these techniques in your writing. It’s really the concept or the idea of how to grow your writing.
