I decided to create a brochure because it best suits my topic, which is about standardized testing. When completing a brochure, the paragraphs are long and have a lot of images to them as well. When people are reading a brochure, there is mostly writing present rather than photos and it consists of many pages for more writing for the overall piece. Brochures produce imagery because photos are involved, creating a sense of mood and more thoughts. Brochures are written from the reader’s point of view. In this type of genre, dialogue is not used; it is just one person talking in this written piece. The tone is professional and straightforward. The purpose of a brochure is to be informative and bring awareness to a specific topic. A brochure is organized into five parts, includes images, defines who your audience is, and determines what information needs to get across. Brochures typically take 20-30 minutes to read, depending on how informative it is in length,

Class Meetings & Times: Mondays & Wednesdays, 4-5:40 PM, in Namm 521
Office Hours: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 12 – 1 PM. I’ll be available through Zoom and will send an invitation via email that you should keep all semester. Try to join my meeting at the start of the hour, not at the end—since I may be talking to other students or have another appointment after the hour is up. If those times don’t work with your schedule, we can schedule a different time. This means you’ll have to schedule an appointment in advance via email. I suggest you have multiple times in mind, since your schedule may not mesh with mine!
