“How to read like a writer” by Mike Bunn was both thoroughly enjoyable to read and very informative. Adding a sincere story from you’re own life or even quoting another’s can really elevate your writing and even bring you closer to your targeted audience. Asking yourself questions while reading such as “What is the author’s purpose for this piece of writing?” and “Who is the intended audience?” can lead to better writing techniques depending on who the writer is oriented toward and what type of writing it is, is it informative is it persuasive or is it entertaining. These techniques are definitely something I would apply to my writing.
