Bunn’s essay goes through many ways we can read like a writer. Reading this text I learn a lot on how to better both my reading skills and my writing skills. There is one instance where I want to quote Bunn where he states,

“The goal is to carefully consider the choices the author made and
the techniques that he or she used, and then decide whether you want
to make those same choices or use those same techniques in your own
writing.”

In a way he is telling me that instead of reading to understand, read to analyze. Analyze how the author choses to tell his or her story and see if you want to put that in your own writing. This idea appeals to me because in a way reading different writing styles can be shared or taught through different writings and now I can apply it to myself. Combining different writing styles to better my writing.
