While looking at the Tinker kit, i just realized another idea for a project. A bunch of LEDs hooked up to the ceiling. Each one acting as it’s own bulb (or maybe 5 make up one bulb, i don’t know). Connected to each LED is a thermistor, which senses temperature. Both of which would be connected to an Arduino. The thermistor would be programmed to measure the temperature of a human body from the ceiling. If it recognizes a reading to be that of a human body it would light a bulb, if the reading is much more than one human body it would take that as two people and would light two bulbs. If there were kids in the room, then it would totally screw up the readings, so let’s not allow any kids, okay?
This can come in handy at a social gathering where a person just doesn’t feel like counting everybody so they have this installed, and depending on the amount of bulbs lit that’s how many people there are. Further development would be to have the Arduino count how many bulbs are lit and display the numerical value on a wall or something visible to everyone.
