Project Proposal: The Fan Clock!

I was always wondering what kind of project I’d do and come up with several ideas.  However, they either seemed a bit too more then I could probably work with, or something to do with sound which I’ve heard is hard to work.  Then I just randomly thought about a fan and clock as one.  The simple idea of a fan spinning with the time being on the spinning blades.

The plan is basically making a fan of sorts that spins that also tells time via L.E.D. lights.  The catch is, the time is on the rotating blades or whatever is spinning.  The hardest possible thing is probably the timing of the code.

The basic thing would be getting the fan blades or whatever we’re going to be using to spin for the fan to well… spin.  Just use a motor to have it spin.  Putting LED’s on it and having them turn on shouldn’t be much of a problem either.  The hardest aspect would really be the coding, like I’ve said.  However, if we manage to actually get this done, maybe we can also work on some other things we can have the fan display.

It’s really suppose to be just something cool to work on.  The color of the LED’s I haven’t really decided on.  Shouldn’t really be much of a problem either, maybe we can mix match it to make it very colorful or maybe just use a simple color like red or blue.

Lots of LEDs, arduino,  motor, sensors
