Project Proposal

For my project I would like to create an autonomous SpyderBot. Since David aka deadly bannanas and I have a similar idea, we will put our minds together and work on it together.

Since David, has more experience with the Arduino/Processing environment and programming language, he is going to focus on the programming. I can give assistance if needed. Depending on who and how many people join our project, I can focus on the build of the bot and getting the needed materials.

Due to the time frame, I would want to keep the bot on the simple side and if there is time in the future, add more features. While doing some research, I have found two sources that I think will be beneficial in creating a simple, yet working SpyderBot.

Movement of the bot would be automatic, with a similar sensor to what the Roomba has, this way, when the bot hits an object, it will move around or away from the object.

This is all I got for now. I am sure, the more I work on it, ideas will come flying in.

One Response to Project Proposal

  1. Since robots are complex projects it would probably be good to find one of the many arduino walking robot projects out there to use as a starting point for this project. Find a few that you can include in your final proposal and try to weigh the merits and flaws of each.
