Each week you will need to respond to two questions posted. Your response should be a minimum of 150 words for both questions. You should also include at least one response to your fellow students. The responses are a requirement for participation part of your grade.

    Question 1

    Use the pen tool (p) and click on the canvas. Hold shift and click on the canvas again. Click ESC on the keyboard. Now there is a line/ path.

    Use the pen tool or click β€œp” on the keyboard. Click and drag up as you hold shift, do not let go until you are satisfied with the angle. Then hold shift and click on the right side of the last point made and drag down as you hold shift.

    1. If you want to make lines that go straight from one point to another what do you do?

    Use the pen tool, left click to make a point, hold shift so the line will be straight, put your cursor on another area and left click for another point. Use esc to make the pen tool stop drawing a path.

    What tool in Illustrator can change a straight line anchor point to a bezier curve?

    To change a straight line to a bezier curve, use the anchor point tool. You can use this tool to make angles or curves. Right click on the pen tool to get the anchor point tool. Go to the straight line you have and click on it with the anchor point and curve it however you like.

    1. If you want to make lines go straight from one point to another you do it by first selecting the pen tool in the toolbar. With the pen tool, you click on the spot where you want the line to start and then click again where you want the line to end. To end the line you would then click ESC to stop adding on to the line.

    2. The tool in illustrator that can change a straight line anchor point into a bezier curve is the anchor point tool. Once you have a line created by using the pen tool, you would go to the toolbar and double click on the pen tool to open up more options. Under the pen tool, you would click the anchor pen tool. With the anchor point tool, you would hold down the section and move to bend it.

      You explained it better than I did. Telling where you can find the pen tool which is at the tool bar. I think I should add to my and your response is to move the angle of the line is using the direct selection tool on the tool bar.

    If you want to make lines that go straight from one point to another what do you do?
    When making lines go from one point to another, the pen tool is the first option for this. Then with that tool click the two end points to create a straight line that doesn’t include any breakage and has two points

    What tool in Illustrator can change a straight line anchor point to a bezier curve?
    Click and hold on the line segment, then drag to “bend” it. J. Paths are edited by moving the locations of anchor points and adjusting the length or angle of Bezier handles. In recent versions of Illustrator, the Direct Selection Tool also has a reshaping feature, but there’s no need to hold down the Alt key.

    1. If you want to make lines that go straight from one point to another what do you do?
    To make a straight line that goes from one point to another what you need to do first is select the pen tool or the line segment tool you click on the artboard and then you hold left shift because if you don’t hold it the line won’t be straight once you drag the line across the artboard you click again and then you have a straight line.

    If you want to make the straight line into a bezier curve what you need to do is use the anchor point tool which is located within the pen tool options and then you click on one of the anchor points and you can curve it to whatever direction you want it to go.

    1. To make a straight line you can either use the line segment tool or the pen tool. You click and drag while holding the shift key. If you don’t hold the shift key the line may be off.

    2. To change a straight line to a bezier curve you use the anchor point tool or shift+C. Then hold and drag from the anchor point to make your curve.

    1. If you want to create a straight line you take the line tool and hold down the shift key to keep it straight, if you don’t it’ll look crooked.

    2. If you want to change a straight line anchor point to a bezier point you take the points that you have created with your pen tool and select the anchor points with the direct selection tool to drag and move the points.

    In order to make a straight line you would need to select the pen tool, then you move your mouse while dragging in the direction of your choice after which you would release mouse once you want to end the line. To close the line press escape to avoid continuation of it.

    To change a straight line to a bezier curve you select the anchor point tool. To “bend” a line segment, click and hold it, then drag it. Moving anchor points and altering the length and angle of Bezier handles are used to modify paths. The Direct Selection Tool features a reshaping feature in current versions of Illustrator.

    1. To make a straight line select the pen tool, hold shift while dragging any direction and release mouse once you want to end the line. To close the line press esc to avoid continuation of it.
    2. To make a straight line to a bezier curve you can select the anchor point tool, decide where you want the curve the drag to the desire length.

      I agree with Cassidy in order to make a straight line you nee to “select the pen tool, hold shift while dragging any direction and release mouse once you want to end the line.”
