    1. One selecting tool is the magic wand. This tool makes a selection based on the color the image has. I find this useful when you quickly want to remove a background from an image. Another selecting tool is the rectangle marquee tool. This tool makes a rectangle shape out of marching ants and selects everything within it. Using both these tools together, you can make more precise selections while using selection options like the inverse option to select something you couldn’t just with one single tool.
2.The way I used the brush to make shadow in my midterm was using a soft brush and picking tones of black/grey and go over wherever needs shadow. Sometimes you can even lower the hardness instead of picking a preset brush to get even more customizable shadow shapes in your work.

The brush is a touchup tool that can and will alter the appearance of shapes or an area. This tool can disguise a gradient to many different degrees and define a specific space to bring your artwork to life.

I agree, the brush tool helps in many ways and can give more detail to your already well-made work.

    1. Two different selection tools can be the elliptical marquee tool which makes a selection of a perfect circle if you hold the shift key. This gives you the advantage of cutting out the circle and keep whatever is inside of the circle while your background is deleted. The 2nd selection tool can be the magic wand. This give you control of automatically deleting certain parts of an image you want to delete or select to change something. You can change the tolerance as well to select a higher amount of an object or less parts.

    2. You can use the fuzzy soft brush tool to create a shadow in your artwork. By doing this you can create two layers and one of the layers you can draw a soft brush circle in black, using the soft brush gives it more of a shadow because if you use a hard brush it won’t look as realistic and un natural. After you create your shadow you can place it where ever you want.

    • Bonnie yang

I agree with you a soft brush creates a more natural shadows compare to a hard brush.
