After weeks of no luck I was starting to give up hope. But then I remembered that I had my high school art teacher on Facebook and I was a good student in her class, so much so that she wrote one of my college recommendation letters. So I decided to shoot her a message. I honestly thought it was a shot in the dark but time was running out and I had nothing to lose. I messaged her explaining my situation and was empathetic. She personally did not need a design intern for any reason but she did refer me to a teacher friend of hers that wanted to add some visuals to her lesson plans. She set us up for an interview over zoom and, miraculously, everything went smoothly and just in the nick of time! Right around the beginning of the fall semester. I want to thank my past self for being a good student in high school. I had no idea that how I was as a highschool student would end up helping me out more than ten years later.
