This was the first Guest Service Fanatic card I receive during my college program at Epcot. I was recognized for courtesy and show by my co-worker Art and my coordinator Mayda for the greeting spiel I came up with at the greeter position. I was trying to make Load 1’s job a bit easier so I told all our guests “Welcome time travelers! Please partner up with a person you want to ride with most. Only two people per row and no more then two so pick wisely. If you have an odd number in your party, someone will be riding alone! Enjoy your trip!”
Comment: Being proactive at greeter. Welcoming the guest at Spaceship Earth. Good Job!

For this card I was recognized for going above and beyond by my co-worker Kelley. I was tasking during my shift when I had ran into a family with 3 little girls. The mom wanted to know where the entrance to our ride was. I decided to take them through the VIP entrance since it will be hard juggling 3 girls by herself in the 40 minutes line. On our way to the VIP entrance I found out it was one of the little girl’s birthday. After we departed,  ran over to guest relations to get her a birthday pin with her name on it and 3 “I’m celebrating pins” and I waited at the exit of our ride for them.
Comment: Mei went above and beyond by assembling our wheelchair cue and getting birthday buttons for guests.

This card was recognized by my manger Larry who thought I was projecting a positive image and energy. I was in rotation at unload 2 where I was welcome all the time travelers back from their journey to the future. To ensure all guests was exiting the ride safely I had to tell them to watch their steps constantly. I also made sure that no one was staying on the moving platform since it causes a traffic jam where it would become a safety issue.
Comment: Excellent Disney 4 keys at Spaceship Earth. Smiling, Safety spiels + efficiency.

I received this card for safety and courtesy from my two coordinators, Dalih and Richard. I was on my way to the bathroom and a male guest came up to ask for help on behalf of his wife who was sick in the bathroom. His daughter led me inside where his wife told me she was feeling very sick and couldn’t leave the bathroom. I quickly ran to call for a coordinator who came and spoke to the lady. She agreed for the Alfa unit’s assist and while we were waiting for the Alfa unit to arrive, I assisted my coordinators in gathering the guest’s information.

I was recognized by my fellow cast members that night for courtesy and efficiency. It was a long day for everyone and all we could think about is how much we want these guests to leave so we can go home. As unload 1, I manage to come up with a spiel to help clear our attraction without sounding like we are trying to kick them out. The spiel was “Welcome back time travelers! Please watch your steps as you exit. Epcot is now closed and the firework show has began. Please get home safe and have a magical night!”
Comment: Lovely way of saying good night. Good job Mei! Way to clear post show.

Here, I was recognized by another one of my managers named Artie for courtesy and efficiency. My ending position for the night was post show and most games were closed for the night. Since we are not allowed to tell guests “no” all we could do was say good night and hope they will get the hint and leave. As usual, I would greet the guests as they enter the post show area when they exit the ride. I made sure that the entire room hears me say good night to the guests coming back down so that everyone would know its time to leave.
Comment: Saying good night to all guests exiting Spaceship Earth at the end of the night in a positive manner.

This was recognized by my manager Allison for safety, courtesy and efficiency. We were doing an evacuation due to a guest who jumped out the ride from fear and knocked one of our photo beams off. Most guests usually would be very upset when they have to leave the ride before it’s completed. Luckily, I had an amazing partner name Sal who did a phenomenal job in being my follower during this evacuation. We sincerely apologized to all our guests and got everyone out safely.
Comment: Thank you for addressing the guest who jumped out of the vehicle at Spaceship Earth. Also, amazing job during the evacuation – you were efficient + sincere to the guests.

I received this card from my manager named Thomas for all four keys of safety, courtesy, show and efficiency. I was greeter when I saw a group of guests trying to get my attention. I rushed over to see if everything is okay when they directed me to a little boy that is laying on the floor in the middle of the cue. I immediately called for a manager as another cast member called the Alfa unit. We found out that the little boy had a sizer and hit his head on the rails before he landed on the floor. As more cast members came to help, I began to redo the cue to continue our line of guests who are patiently waiting for the ride.

      Unfortunately, I don’t use Twitter but I’m glad you are enjoying the posts. Disney was truly an amazing experience that I would never forget. This blog was actually created as an assignment for this particular internship so I won’t be posting on it anymore. I will start posting again when the journey to my Professional Internship for Disney begins. Hopefully, the new information would be of use or interest to you and everyone else who comes across it.
