My given name is Moniruz Zaman and I am currently in my 2nd semester at city tech. I was born in Brooklyn and raised in Queens. I was a straight ‘A’ student throughout elementary and junior high school, but became a bit of the opposite during high school. After graduating high school on 2011, I decided to take a break from school and go on a vacation to visit my parent’s native country, Bangladesh.
Bangladesh is a poor 3rd world country where many people go through many hardships, for example, in many places like small villages and towns, people build buildings with man power only, without any use of technology. I never saw this type of living conditions, which is why it fascinated me. AT the end of the vacation I realized that although the country is poor and conditions are hard, their architecture still comes out very nice. It was shocking how nice a 3 story building could be made without any machinery. This is what sparked my interest in Architecture.
