This is photo of the flowers was taken at a side angle. I feel this is great photo because we see most of the flowers at a new angle and it shows their size difference. Plus at this angle we get a sense of depth with the descending size of the flowers. This lighting here is good because we can see the vivid flowers from the dark background.
Contrast of scale does give a strong sense of depth. Do you mean side light?
