November 12-13, 2021
Virtual Conference hosted by the ASEE Middle Atlantic Section
https://sites.google.com/view/asee-midatlantic-fall2021/
We are accepting abstracts now through September 6, 2021

The ASEE Middle Atlantic Conference Committee is pleased to invite faculty, researchers, engineers, students, and practitioners from industry and government agencies to present their latest accomplishments and innovations in Engineering Education. This year’s Fall Conference will be hosted virtually by the ASEE Middle Atlantic Section.

Engineers must keep evolving, and so do engineering schools; we must broaden our students’ education. Further efforts are required to integrate the critical interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary elements of science and engineering into the curriculum and, equally important, the context of engineering’s practice and role in a global, multicultural, and technology-driven society.
The theme for this year’s Fall conference is “Socio-Cultural Challenges and Impacts in Engineering Education.” However, abstracts are solicited for papers in all topics of interest to engineering educators, including, but not limited to:

• Integrating Culture in Engineering Education
• Ethics in Engineering Education
• Multi‐Disciplinary Engineering
• Online‐Learning
• Service and Project‐Based Learning
• Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU)
• Increasing Diversity in Engineering
• Novel pedagogical approaches to teaching engineering
• Incorporating technologies in engineering education
• Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in Engineering Education
• Creating a diverse and inclusive educational environment
• Entrepreneurship Education/Mentoring
• Innovations in Teaching Engineering
• Senior Capstone Design Projects
• Improving Critical Thinking
• K-12 Engineering Education
• Addressing Covid-19 challenges
• Addressing grand challenges through engineering

Abstracts should be 250-500 words, and all submissions must follow the guidelines prescribed in the Author’s Kit. If you are interested in serving as a session chair or offering a workshop, please contact Dr. Ben Mendoza.
We are looking forward to seeing you in November.

The document camera that Dr. Nakamura using

This document camera is very useful for showing documents as well as showing a process of calculations/brainstorming (hand drawing): quick focus, low cost, enough bright with less light, easy to fold and carry, etc. If you are an instructor and have to teach tech or design content online, I recommend having one.

Re: Campaign: Zero Tolerance for Harassment, Aggressive Pressure or Intimidation

In April 2021, the MECH department community will start a campaign called “Zero Tolerance for Harassment.” Our community does not accept any harassment, aggressive pressure, or intimidation among students and faculty, College Lab Technical (CLT) staff, CUNY Office Administrative (COA) Staff in the MECH department as well as the College and University levels. We believe this campaign is helpful for working to prevent any inappropriate behavior around us.
