Introduction- Cristina

Hello everyone! My name is Cristina Julisa Castro Espinoza. My friends like to call me cj. I’m from Queens and my parents are originally from Ecuador. I enjoy going to the gym and swimming. I’m a construction management civil engineering major. I love school and I especially love all my construction classes. It’s a male-dominated field so I love being part of the girls in it. Apart from school, I’m a lifeguard at many pools all around the city. I’ve been a swimmer since I was 6 and I love it, it’s a great escape from reality for me. I’m a very goal-oriented person but I tend to procrastinate. The adrenaline rush of procrastinating helps but also stresses me out. I love adrenaline rushes though, like rollercoasters, and jumping off high places, and I want to skydive soon.

Over the summer I went to Ecuador to visit my family and went on their tallest cliff swing which was so much fun. I’m really looking forward to getting to know you guys, I can come off as shy but I promise I’m nice it just takes a minute for me to get comfortable.

  1. WOW — this looks very scary! and skydiving! I can see you love the adrenaline feeling. I am also a swimmer. I love open swim and so swimming in a lake or river or sea is really wonderful for me. This is summer I swam in the Mediterranean Sea near Spain.

Is there a women in engineering club at City Tech? That would be great for you.

Hmmmm procrastination seems to be many college students Modus Operandi. I personally urge against it, but I do have students who tell me it works for them. But I never advise students to leave things for the last minute!
