Introduction–Ilham L.

My name is Ilham Lawani, and I am half Ghanaian and Nigerian. So, when Ghanaians and Nigerians fight like actual fight, to the point where they hold competitions about which country has the best type of Jollof rice (cultural food) I cannot really say anything since I am from both. Ghana’s Jollof rice pops Nigerian’s Jollof rice, but Nigerans swear up and down that theirs better.  I am planning to major in radiology here at City Tech because it is one of the many careers that contribute to saving people’s lives by developing images to aid in the diagnosis of medical conditions such as finding out if someone has cancer or any other medical conditions and help monitor their treatment in the process. The one thing about me most people find weird is my deep dislike of the sun and the hot weather. I don’t know what it is, but I utterly despise summer and spring. I have traveled twice, once to Turkey and once on a school trip with my friends to Saudi Arabia for religious purposes.

I love watching anything movie or TV show related my favorite genres to watch are psychological thrillers, and horror, and I love the MARVEL universe. One of my favorite all-time shows to watch is “POWER”. If you have not watched it yet, get to it, and some of my other favorite TV series to watch are “The Vampire Diaries” and “The Originals”. I feel like I have watched every show and movie because, in my opinion, they help you escape reality which we all need occasionally. I am not a very picky eater but at the same time I am, the one food I will never eat in this lifetime or the next is SUSHI. The one movie series I would not watch, even if you pay me to is STAR WARS, I do not think I have to explain that. Overall, that covers it.

FUN FACT: I know this is going to throw some people off, but I have never touched or played video games before. I just never saw the appeal lmao.

  1. SUSHI IS SOOO GOOD HOW DO YOU NOT LIKE IT??? You have to try the California roll that is like top 5. I feel you on not being able to watch Star Wars, this part might throw a whole bunch of ya off but I can’t watch or read any of the Harry Potter series! I just can’t I don’t get the hype or nothing it just never called my attention. It’s pretty cool that you had a school trip to Saudi Arabia how was the experience of that trip? How do you prefer this cold ass weather to a nice spring day LMAOOO I can’t its too cold man.

    1. Nah not being able to watch THE “HARRY POTTER” is CRAZY, like that was my whole childhood lmfaooo, but thank god I’m not the only one who can’t watch Star Wars. The reason why I don’t like sushi aside from the fact that it’s nasty(sorry)is the texture. I have a phobia of like eating raw things or like just like anything that feels soft in my mouth and I when I eat sushi I can taste the ocean, I don’t know how to describe it but it just throws me off. I have yet to try the California rolls, which I don’t know if I will, but will try.The Saudi Arabia trip was a one in a lifetime experience because I got the chance to do it with my friends.Me and the cold ass weather go together like this, I rather it than hot weather because the hot weather makes me feel over stimulated and it’s just too much bro like the sweating and shit ugh.

  2. hey Ilham, THANK GOD SOMEONE FINALLY AGREES WITH ME ABOUT GHANAS JOLLOF BEING BETTER THAN NIGERIAN JOLLOF,I feel like people would jump me In real life if I actually said the truth out loud lol. it seems like we have a lot in common when it comes to our tastes in movies. phycological horror is where its at my favorite phycological horror movie would be get out by Jordan Peele.

    1. RIGHT!!!!Like please Nigerians think they shit like they got good music and all but when it comes to food let’s leave it to the professionals lmfao like they always wanna one up Ghanaians but it’s just the facts.“GetOut” was a straight up masterpiece like the way they executed the film with the twists and the acting was top, absolutely chefs-kiss!
