In the article ” Schools are killing curiosity”, Wendy Berliner informs parents that children are being taught to learn instead of being curious. Berliner uses research from Susan Engel that states ” How well they behave, and how they perform seem much more important to many people in the educational communities. Often educational bureaucracies have shunted curiosity to the side.” I agree with the fact that behavior and performance are observed more than curiosity since I experienced this. Whiles being in class, you begin to observe that teachers aim to help students understand the material to help them excel. Not only that, but if curiosity isn’t shunted, you will find more children who are eager to learn about the topic or subject.
