Part 2 Summary

In the article, “ ‘Schools Are Killing Curiosity’: Why We Need To Stop Telling Children To Shut Up And Learn,” Wendy Berliner is talking about how school is making a negative impact on kids by limiting questions being asked in class. Kids were born with curiosity, they tend to ask a lot of questions however Susan Engel has done research where that as kids get older and are old enough to go to school, they stop asking questions because the teachers care more about teaching rather than what the kid has to ask. It also mentioned that students who are academically doing good were found less curious. This shows that they were more focused on academics rather than being curious. But at the end of the passage, Wendy Berliner talked about how students should be encouraged to ask questions instead of not asking questions.
